The brief required me to find a copyright free song or artist that I have the rights and permissions to promote. To brand the artist I had to create one music video package, a DVD cover for the digipack and an A4 magazine advertisement promoting the DVD digipack. I chose an R&B artist, called Chris Issac, however I was given permission from the producer and lyricist of the song. I emailed the producer Samir Qulatein asking if I could use one of his songs and explained why I needed it, he emailed me back giving me permission and a copy of the song and lyrics of 'For You'.
‘For you’ is in a typical R&B style which is what initially attracted me to the song. The song allowed me to have a narrative as well as performance which are typically seen in the R&B genre. This allowed me to conform to existing R&B music videos which I have been looking at during pre-production. Having listened to the song I was able to come up with ideas that conform to stereotypes of the R&B genre. I specifically realised with a similar style of song to 'For You' there is mainly a narrative which show some sort of relationship this is something I considered through my pre-production.
